The conference hotel (Hotel Grand Pacific) is in the harbor of Victoria downtown. It is strongly recommended to stay at Hotel Grand Pacific. If you come to Victoria Airport, it takes 25 minutes by driving to the hotel. If you come by Clipper Ferry, Kenmore Air, or Harbour Air, the hotel is 5 minutes away by walk from the landing.
There are direct flights to Victoria International Airport from Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, San Francisco, Abbotsford, Las Vegas, Phoenix, etc. The airport is not busy and you can quickly rent a car. You can also take a taxi or shuttle bus to Victoria downtown.
If you are coming from Seattle downtown, you can come to the conference hotel by either passenger only ferry (Clipper Ferry) or by harbour-to-harbour airplane (Kenmore Air). There is only one Clipper ferry per day, so it is not easy to schedule. It is easier to schedule with Kenmore Air because there are three planes to Victoria per day. One way price for Clipper Ferry is around $100.00 and Kenmore Air is around $140.00 one way. Kenmore Air also has flights from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Victoria harbour.
If you are coming from Vancouver downtown, you can come by harbour-to-harbour airplane (Harbour Air). There are flights almost every hour and the fare is around $170 one way. You can take a bus (Pacific Coach Line) to Victoria harbour from Vancouver downtown as well. The fare costs $35 one way. The bus will take you directly to Victoria harbour.
If you are driving and would like to take your car with you, you can either come from Vancouver BC or Port Angeles WA. Ferry from Port Angeles comes to Victoria harbour directly, but there are only two ferries per day from Port Angeles. Ferry from Vancouver (BC Ferries, Tsawwassen Terminal) comes to Sidney, BC, and it takes about 25 minutes by car to Hotel Grand Pacific. BC Ferry gives you a good scenery on the way, but it takes 1.5 hour.
- If you take a car ferry and would like to take your car, you must come to the ferry terminal at least an hour early before departure time.
- For non-US international travellers, if you transit through Sea-Tac Airport, you have to go through Customs and Border twice (one in Seattle and another in Victoria).
- Harbour-to-harbour planes (Kenmore Air and Harbour Air) get delayed or cancelled when there is high wind or too much fog.
